3.6.3 Discard Changes
Select this option and press <Enter> to discard all the changes and return to the AMI
BIOS Utility Program.
3.6.4 Load Optimal Defaults
Select this item to automatically load Optimal Defaults from the Exit menu and press
<Enter>. Then, select OK to allow the AMI BIOS to automatically load Optimal De-
faults to the BIOS Settings. The Optimal settings are designed for maximum system
performance, but may not work best for all computer applications.
3.6.5 Load Fail-Safe Defaults
To set this feature, select Load Fail-Safe Defaults from the Exit menu and press
<Enter>. The Fail-Safe settings are designed for maximum system stability, but not
for maximum performance.
3.7 BIOS Recovery
How to Recover the AMIBIOS Image (Main BIOS Block)
An AMIBIOS flash chip consists of a boot sector block, and a main BIOS code
block (a main BIOS image). The boot sector block contains critical BIOS code,
including memory detection and recovery code to be used to flash a new BIOS
image if the original BIOS Image is corrupted. When the system is powered on, the
boot sector code executes first. Once it is completed, the main BIOS code will con-

Flashing the wrong BIOS can cause irreparable damage to the system. In no event
shall Themis be liable for direct, indirect, special, incidental, or consequential dam-
ages arising from a BIOS update. If you need to update the BIOS, do not shut down
or reset the system while the BIOS is updating. This is to avoid possible boot fail-
ure.
