Mobile Belt Loader Model 660-28

Section 1

Operation Manual

2. Release the park brake.

3. Ensure steering is operational in the disabled unit by turning the steering wheel.

4. Tow unit as described in see 1.4.1.5 Belt Loader Towing Instructions.

5. Once towing destination is reached, place transmission of the towing vehicle in neutral, apply the

park brake, and turn the ignition key to the OFF position.

6. Chock wheels of the disabled unit.

7. Disconnect the vehicles by removing the tow bar.

Perform the following steps when the engine is inoperable, but still has electrical power.

1. Release the park brake.

2. Ensure steering is operational in the disabled unit by turning the steering wheel.

3. Tow unit as described in 1.4.1.5 Belt Loader Towing Instructions.

4. Once towing destination is reached, place transmission of the towing vehicle in neutral, apply the

park brake and turn the ignition key to the OFF position.

5. Chock wheels of the disabled unit.

6. Disconnect the vehicles by removing the tow bar.

CAUTION:

Verify the steering system operates properly. The steering wheel should turn the front
wheels of the vehicle. Steering effort will be greater than normal, but should be possi-
ble. If the Belt Loader cannot be steered, do not tow the Belt Loader.

CAUTION:

Towing speed must NOT exceed 6 mph (10 km/h). Do NOT tow the disabled unit more
than 6 mi. (10 km).

NOTE:

The disabled unit should be steered to follow the towing unit.

CAUTION:

Towing speed must NOT exceed 3 mph (5 km/h). Do NOT tow the disabled unit more
than 6 mi. (10 km).

NOTE:

Steer the disabled unit to follow the towing unit.
