4-3-2.   Selecting the horizontal scale 

 

Select horizontal 
scale 

To select the timebase (scale), 
turn the TIME/DIV knob; left 
(slow) or right (fast). 

TIME/DIV

 

Range 

1ns/div ~ 50s/div, 1-2.5-5-10 
increment 

The timebase indicator at the bottom of the display 
updates the current horizontal scale. 

 

4-3-3.   Selecting the waveform update mode 

 

Background 

The display update mode is switched automatically 
or manually according to the horizontal scale. 

Main mode 

Updates the whole displayed waveform at once. 
The main mode is automatically selected when the 
horizontal scale (timebase) is fast. 

 

Horizontal scale 

≤100ms/div 

 

Trigger 

All modes available 

Roll mode 

Updates and moves the waveform gradually from 
the right side of the display to the left. The Roll 
mode is automatically selected when the horizontal 
scale (timebase) is 50ms or slower. 

 

 

Main mode
