Starting the Engine
1 Be sure the ground, pendent and platform
control red Emergency Stop buttons are pulled
out to the ON position.
2 At the ground controls, turn the key switch to
the ON position.
3 When the system ready light is illuminated,
press the green engine start button.
If the engine fails to start after 15 seconds of
cranking, determine the cause and repair any
malfunction. Wait 60 seconds before trying to start
again. In cold conditions, you may need to press
and hold the choke button while starting the engine.
Warm the engine, and hydraulic fluid, for 5 minutes
before operating to prevent hydraulic system
damage.
Emergency Power
Use emergency power if the primary power source
(engine) fails.
1 Check that the key switch is in the on
position.
2 Check that all red Emergency Stop buttons
are pulled to the on position.
3 Adjust the choke and pull the starter cable.
Emergency Stop
Push in either the ground or platform, red
Emergency Stop button to the off position to stop
all functions and turn the engine off.
Repair any function that continues to operate when
any of the red Emergency Stop buttons are pushed
in.
Setup for Operation
1 Position the machine above the desired work
area.
2 Set the trailer parking brake.
3 Cordon off work area to warn traffic according to
local, state, federal regulations.
4 Disconnect the trailer lights, safety chains
and the breakaway brake switch cable from the
tow vehicle. Remember to promptly replace the
pull pin in the electric brake switchbox.
5 If parked on a slope, chock the wheels.
6 Open the latch on the hitch coupler.
7 Using the jack handle lower the trailer drive
wheel until it makes firm contact with the
bridge deck and allows the tow hitch to be
freed from the trailer.
8 Remove both outrigger safety chains from the
outriggers.
