2.3.4 Volume Adjust
Use the volume control knobs (marked with 13 in Figure 7) on the left flank of
transceiver housing to adjust the volume of the radio. Knobs
are marked with «↓» and «↑»
symbols. «↓» key is used to decrease the volume, and «↑» key is used to increase the
volume.
2.3.5 Touch-Tone Call
The touch-tone call of the network subscribers is performed when the radio
operates in the voice messaging mode in F3E class.
To transmit the tone call from the radio, press and hold the knob, marked with 15 in
Figure 7. The knob, marked with letter “
O
” is on the left flank of the radio.
While the “ O”
knob is pressed, the radio transmits calling signal of 1000 Hz voice
frequency, but not the oice. When the “ O”
knob is released, the tone call is not
transmitted. After the tone call has been transmitted, you can transmit voice.
Voice is transmitted when the knob 14 (“PRESS-TO-TALK-BUTTON”, Figure 7) is
pressed, which is on the left flank of the transceiver. It is marked with
« Ξ » symbol.
The radio, which is operated on reception, the 2,4 kHz tone is heard when any
radio is transmitted the tone call. It attracts operator’s attention when it is necessary to
listen in the next in turn message in the net.
2.3.6 Power level setup
To set the power level, press the
“7” PWR
key.
If the radio was set to the output power of 0,5 W, it will be changed to 2,0 W after
the PWR key has been pressed.
If the radio was set to the output power of 2,0 W, it will be changed to 0,5 W after
the PWR key has been pressed.

The emission power should be selected depending on the distance the subscriber
is from the radio, as well as electromagnetic environment in the selected frequency range.
Usually, to reduce mutual interference between the radios in the network and protect the
subscriber’s radio recei er from the o erload it is recommended to operate on the low
power output.
