Do not connect antenna or adjust its position when the radio operates in
transmission mode.
Do not install the Battery Pack into the Battery Charger when it is turned off to avoid
full discharge of the Battery Pack or its shut down.
It is not recommended to keep the Battery Pack in the Battery Charger for the long
time after the charging has been finished.
2.2.2.
Getting Started
To check performance before proceeding with the radio operations do the following:
1)
Unpack the radio and check its package contents;
2)
Make sure the power switch on the front panel is in
«OFF»
position.
3)
Check the battery pack residual capacity.
To check residual capacity you should touch simultaneously, for a short, terminal
pad “PLUS ” and terminal pad, marked with 2 on the top side of the battery pack, with your
fingers. Figure 15 shows the position of terminal pads.
When you touch the terminal pads, a special sensor, placed on the board, which is
in the battery pack, is activated, and LED indicator, which is beneath the glassy window on
the battery pack housing, turns on. Indicators light during 2-5 sec. Residual capacity of the
battery pack may be approximately estimated according to the following:
a)
4 green and 1 yellow LED indicators are lighting
– 100% residual capacity;
b)
3 green and 1 yellow LED indicators are lighting
– 80% residual capacity;
c)
2 green and 1 yellow LED indicators are lighting
– 60% residual capacity;
d)
1 green and 1 yellow LED indicators are lighting
– 40% residual capacity;
e)
1 yellow LED indicator is lighting
– 20% residual capacity;
f)
1 red LED indicator is lighting
– zero residual capacity;
g)
None of the indicators is lighting
– battery pack is emergency discharged.
Note. In case when residual capacity of the battery pack is almost zero, or it is
emergency discharged, it is necessary to charge it. To do this you should do the following:
-
connect the Battery Charger to the 12 or 12V power source;
-
switch the “
POWER
” on. “
POWER
” should light and
“CHARGE”
LED
indicator should flash. When the
“CHARGE”
LED indicator is off, Battery Charger is ready.
-
install the Battery Pack into the Battery Charger. Charge mode is turned on
automatically, which is proved by the light of the
“CHARGE”
LED indicator. The charging is
over when the
“CHARGE”
LED indicator is off. Battery Charger disconnects the Battery
Pack automatically.
