1.4.4 Battery Pack

Battery pack supplies power to the radio during its operation. Overall view of the

Battery Pack is shown in Figure 15.

Battery pack consists of two tandem lithium-ions batteries. The output voltage is (7,2-

7,4) V.

Battery pack is equipped with specific board, which protects battery units from

o er oltage during the charging, and also pro ides testing of battery units’ residual capacity.

To control residual capacity, LED indicators are placed on the board, and there is a watch-

window, marked with 1, on the battery pack housing

to monitor indicators’ light.

Battery pack housing, marked with 3, is made of high-strength glass-filled

polycarbonate. Battery pack housing is hermetic. It is not allowed to open the housing during

the performance. On the housing there are retainers, marked with 4, to fix the pack to the

Transceiver, terminals, marked with 5, to connect to the Transceiver and the Battery

Charger, watch-window, marked with 1, terminal pad, marked with 2, to initialize testing. On

the bottom of the Battery Pack there are terminal pads, marked with 6, to connect to the

Battery Charger. To charge the Battery Pack through terminal pads there is no need to

disconnect it from the Transceiver (as radio component), when the radio is on.
