Before You Install
Before you begin to install your VoIP Gateway, make sure that the temperature and humidity of the
operating environment are kept within the following limits:
Ambient temperature:
0°C - 45°C (32°F - 113°C)
Humidity:
10% - 90% non-condensing
Required Equipment List
•
Optionally, a PC or a laptop computer with a LAN card, a web browser and T elnet.
•
One 10/100BaseT X (RJ-45) Ethernet cable (supplied) for the Ethernet connection
from the Access 211 Gateway to your router/switch or modem.
•
One 10/100BaseT X (RJ-45) Ethernet cable (not supplied) to connect the unit to
your computer devices.
•
T wo push-button telephones with DT MF (tone signal) capability (not supplied).
•
An AC/5VDC power adapter (supplied).
When using the Access 211/211N Gate way and the attache d tele phone se t, basic safe ty
pre cautions should always be followe d to re duce the risk of fire , ele ctric shock and
injury to pe rsons, including the following:
1.
Do not use this equipment near wate r, for example, near a bath tub, wash bowl,
kitchen sink or laundry tub, in a wet basement or near a swimming pool.
2.
Avoid using the e quipment during an electrical storm. The re may be a remote risk of
electric shock from lightning.
3.
Do not use the attached telephone to re port a gas leak in the vicinity of the leak.
4.
Do not cove r the unit or block ventilation.
The Access 211/211N Gate way must be powe re d by an external UL liste d limite d powe r
source or Class II powe r source (AC /DC adapte r), rate d input: 100 -240 V, 47-63Hz ,
0.5A, output: 5VDC @ 2.4A.
O NLY the Life Line port on the Access 211 can be conne cte d to the Public
Te le communication Network. The phone ports (Phone1 and Phone2) are intende d for
indoor connections only and may not be conne cte d to the Tele communication Ne twork.
To re duce the risk of fire , use only No. 26 AW G or large r gauge wires to connect the
PSTN (Life Line) port to the Te lecommunication Network.
The phone ports (PH1 and PH2) on the Access 211N are intende d for indoor
connections only and must not be connecte d to the Public Tele communication Ne twork.
