Unpacking the equipment
Chapter 5: Unpacking the equipment
5.1 Damages due to transport
Upon receipt of goods at their final destination, the integrity of the packing cases and
materials should first be verified by careful visual inspection. Any deformation of the chassis
of the equipments shows bad conditions of transport and hits to the equipment. This can
damage the equipments and can cause malfunction.
TEL-MAR assume no responsibility for damage to equipments
due to transport.
Any damage should be reported immediately, both to the freight
forwarder or carrier who delivered the goods and to TEL-MAR’s
shipping office or to the Agent who supplied the goods.
Any claim for damage in transit is the responsibility of the recipient to initiate with the last
carrier (irrespective of who insured the goods and whether or not they were insured) and
should be put in hand immediately the damage has been noticed. Damaged packing
materials should be kept secure, pending any necessary inspection by the carrier, shipping
company, Agent or TEL-MAR.
Upon unpacking the goods, any signs of damage to the equipment
should be noted down and, if possible, photographed. If there is severe
damage, the equipment should not be installed or used, but kept secure
pending instruction from TEL-MAR’s shipping office or the relevant
Agent.
