Field Replaceable Unit Disassembly/Assembly
Reverse these steps to reinstall the drum assembly. Upon reassembly, install the
left and right-side shoulder screws first; they align the drum/transfix assembly to
the engine frame.
Make these adjustments after a drum is installed:
■
Drum treatment (perform this procedure first on a new drum) . The
seal drum menu item will only work when the printer is powered-up
from a cold state.
a. Load the media tray with Tabloid Maximum paper.
a. Power-up the printer in Bypass mode, refer to “Bypass mode” on
page 9-4.
b.
Navigate to the Extended Service Support menu and select the
Seal Drum
menu item.
c. Wait for the printer to continue warming up. After warm-up, the
printer prints a blank page, five solid black fills and a mud page.
Drum treatment is complete.

Drum position encoder sensor gap, refer to “Drum position encoder
gap” on page 9-20.

Pressure springs, refer to “Transfix roller pressure spring adjustment”
on page 9-18.

Y-axis belt tension, refer to “Y-axis belts tension adjustment” on
page 9-8.

Process motor belt tension, refer to “Process motor belt tension
adjustment” on page 9-6.
