7. Insert the drum encoder wheel gap tool between encoder wheel and
the drum position sensor assembly as if you were going to set the gap
position. This “locks” the encoder wheel with the sensor assembly so
they can be removed as a single unit without damaging the encoder
wheel.
8. Remove the two screws securing the drum position sensor assembly
housing to the print engine. Slide the assembly off the drum shaft. If
necessary, use the small flat-blade screwdriver to push the encoder
disk hub along the shaft as you remove the assembly. A drum shaft
bearing may slide off the drum shaft with the sensor assembly.
