am. Disconnect the high-frequency generator.
42. Check Low-Frequency Triggering Operation
a. Connect the low-frequency constant-amplitude sine-
wave generator to the V E R T INPUT connector through
the 42-inch 50-ohm BNC cable, 50-ohm BNC termin
ation and the BNC T connector. Connect the output
of the BNC T connector to the E X T T R IG OR H O R IZ
IN PU T connector with an 18-inch 50-ohm BNC cable.
b. Change the following control settings:

Set the low-frequency generator for a 0.9-division
display (90 millivolts) at 30 hertz.

CHECK—Stable CRT display is presented with the

able positive-slope area.

CHECK—Stable CRT display can be obtained with
the Trig/Horiz Coupling switch set to E X T T R IG AC

g. Turn the T R IG G E R control clockwise to the vari
able negative-slope area.
h. CHECK—Stable C RT display can be obtained with
the Trig/Horiz Coupling switch set to E X T T R IG AC
and DC (TR IG G E R Control may be adjusted as neces
sary to obtain a stable display).
i. Set the TR IG G E R control to —A U T O .
j. CHECK—Stable CRT display is presented with the
Trig/Horiz Coupling Switch set to E X T T R IG AC and
DC.
k. Set the Trig/Horiz Coupling switch to IN T T R IG
AC.
I. Set the low-frequency generator for a 0.3-division
display at 30 hertz.
m. C H EC K —Stable CRT display is presented.
