For DC-390U/F:
Windows 98 will detect Tekram DC-390U/F PCI SCSI Cards and prompt you with:
"Need update driver from Tekram" during installation.
AT this point, you need to install the DC-390U/F device driver as follows:
1.
Make sure Windows 98.is up and running properly. Insert the Tekram Driver Disk into
your floppy drive (A: ).
2.
Run the patch file located at
a:\win95_98\98patch.exe
(Refer to the notes
below.)
3.
Open the Control Panel and double-click the
System
Icon.
4.
Click the
Device Manager
Tab and select "
PCI SCSI Bus Controllers
".
5.
Select “
Tekram DC-390U/F PCI SCSI Adapter
” and click "
Properties
".
6.
Click the “
Driver
” Tab and choose “
Update Driver
”. The “Update Device Driver
Wizard” will appear. Click “
Next
”.
7.
Select “Search for a better driver than the one your device is using now
(Recommended)” and click
Next
.
8.
Select “
Specify a location
”.
9.
Type in the path:
A:\WIN95_98
10.
Click "
Next
".
11.
Select "Tekram DC-390(U/F) PCI SCSI Adapter" and click "
Finish
" to install the
driver.
12.
Restart the system.
Notes
:
•
Windows 98 PCI.VXD will generate a "Tekram" key to replace the normal
"VEN_1000&DEV_000F&SUBSYS_00000000&DEV_03" in the directory of
KEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Enum\PCI. This will result in a compatibility problem with
HCT test. Our 98PATCH.EXE modifies the PCI.VXD program and fix this problem.
•
98Patch.exe is only for DC-390U/F under Windows 98. For windows 95 and windows 95
OSR2, you don't need to run 98patch.exe to fix PCI.VXD.
