8. WINDOWS 3.X DRIVERS
This chapter provides installation and un-install procedures for the DC-390 Windows 3.x
driver.
Note:
This driver is for use with all versions of Windows 3.0 or higher, as well as Windows
for WorkGroups 3.11 or higher. The primary purpose of this driver is to enable the
option of 32-Bit Disk Access under the above mentioned environments.
Both Windows AND the Tekram ASPI Drivers must be installed FIRST before
beginning this procedure. Run DOSINST to install the Tekram ASPI Drivers.
8.1 Driver Installation
1.
Make sure that Windows 3.x is up and running properly.
2.
Insert the driver disk into your floppy drive.
3.
Enter
Main Group
, go to
File Manager
then run
A:\WINDRV\INSTALL.EXE
(if the driver disk is in a:)
4.
Reboot to load the driver.
8.2 Driver Un-installation
1.
The original SYSTEM.INI file, which is under the Windows directory, will be renamed
to SYSTEM.001 during the Driver Installation. To un-install the driver, rename the
SYSTEM.INI file to another name such as SYSTEM.TEK, then rename SYSTEM.001
back to SYSTEM.INI.
2.
Restart Windows for the changes to take effect.
