9.3 Installing the Windows 98 Driver
For DC-390/U2B/U2W:
Windows 98 will detect the DC-390 series PCI SCSI Adapter as an AMD or Symbios PCI
SCSI Controller (DC-390U2B/U2W) and install its built-in driver during Windows 98 Setup.
To replace the driver with the Tekram driver, follow these steps:
1.
Open the
Control Panel
and double-click the
System
Icon.
2.
Click the
Device Manager
Tab and select "
PCI SCSI Bus Controllers
".
3.
Select "Symbios Logic 895IU PCI SCSI Adapter" (for DC-390U2B/U2W) or
“AMD PCI SCSI Controller” (for DC-390)
and click "
Properties
".
4.
Click the “
Driver”
Tab and choose “
Update Driver
”. The “Update Device Driver
Wizard” will appear. Click “
Next
”.
5.
Select “Search for a better driver than the one your device is using now
(Recommended)” and click
Next
.
6.
Select “
Specify a location
” and insert the Tekram Driver Disk into your floppy drive.
7.
Type in the path:
A:\WIN95_98
8.
Click "
Next
".
9.
Select "Tekram DC-390(U2B/U2W) PCI SCSI Adapter" and click "
Finish
" to install the
driver.
10.
Restart the system.
