9.3 SALES DATA UPDATE PROCESS
When sales data has been entered on a terminal, the terminal sends AFFECT data to the Master Terminal to
update the sales data in the Center File. Then the terminal sends the same data to the Backup Master Terminal
to update the Backup Data also.

9.4 BACKUP DATA CHECKING
The Master Terminal sends a Version Request command to the Backup Master Terminal every certain period of
time, and receives the Version information of the Backup Master Terminal. The Master Terminal checks matching
between the Version information from the Backup Master and the Master Terminal’s own Center File. When an
error is found, the Backup Error Flag is turned ON. (Refer to Sections “9.5. BACKUP ERROR FLAG.”)
NOTE:
When the Master Terminal is in IN-LINE servicing status (i.e. with IN-LINE Lamp illuminated) or in PC-
job status, no backup data checking is performed.
9.5 BACKUP ERROR FLAG
When a difference arises between the Master Terminal’s own data and the Backup Master Terminal’s Backup
data, the Master Terminal turns ON the Backup Error Flag of the file in which the difference is found.
The following are the seven different timings to turn ON the Backup Error Flag:
(1) When the Center File program data has been changed on the Master Terminal.
(2) When a Version difference has arisen in Backup Data checking.
(3) When a backup job has failed after receiving a center file DLL from the PC.
(4) When backup data updating has failed after resetting the center file.
(5) When a Data Clear of the Master Terminal has been operated.
(6) When a Backup Master Terminal has been added by the Terminal Connection Table Setting (Submode 69).
(7) Mergence of backup data is not correctly performed by PLU merge operation (when the feature “PLU to
be inquired” is selected).
