Troubleshooting
No power
e
Check the connection to the AC wall outlet.
Play does not start
e
Reload the disc with the label side UP.
e
Clean the disc.
Hand mark on screen
e
The selected function does not operate for that disc or another operation is still in
process. Wait a moment and try again.
Picture playback stops and operation buttons will not work.
e
First, stop the disc (press the STOP button), then start playback again.
e
Turn the unit off and back on again and restart the playback.
No picture.
e
Check that the system is connected properly.
e
Make sure you have selected the proper video input on the TV.
Picture noise.
e
If video from this system has to go through your VCR to get to your TV, the copy-
protection applied to some DVD programs could affect picture quality. Please connect
the unit directly to your TV.
There is no sound or only a very low-level sound is heard.

Check that the speakers and components are connected securely.

Make sure the MUTE button has not been pressed or activitated.

Make sure that you have selected the correct source on the system.

Make sure the unit is not in the pause mode or in slow-motion play mode, or fast

If normal operation cannot be recovered, unplug the power cord from the outlet and plug it
in again. This resets the internal micro-computer which can be disturbed during electrical
storms, power interruptions, et cetera.
