5. Names and Functions

USB connector

Insert the plug of the provided dedicated USB
cable.

➆

Power switch

This switches the power on/off. Set this switch
to AUTO in ordinary cases.

Do not operate the power switch during the
operation of the drive. Operate the power
switch when the USB cable connecting the
drive and the computer is removed or when
the power of the computer is off.

When the switch is set to AUTO, the drive
power turns on only when the drive is con-
nected to the computer with the USB con-
nection cable and the power of the compu-
ter is on. The power of the drive will not be
on when the power of the computer is off or
the drive is not connected to the computer.

When the switch is set to ON, the drive power
is always on when the AC adapter is con-
nected.
