Maintenance Schedule

Item

Time Procedure

Lug Torque

Before Trip Check torque. This may be accomplished the day before & at least every 3

rd

 day of an extended trip.

Tires

Before Trip

Check for blisters, cuts, uneven wear, & weather checking. Pressure should be within 10% of “max cold” (45 to
50psi). Check before towing. Also, check during a trip after large changes of temperature or altitude.

Safety Equipment Before Trip

Verify no damage and charge to the fire extinguisher. Check CO2 and propane alarm illuminated. Check First aid
kit installed. Quarterly check the contents of the first aid kit.

Hitch Coupler

Hitching

Free & proper operation. Periodically clean and lubricate. Movement should be smooth, without binding.

Hitch Jack

Hitching

Safety Chains

Hitching

Verify no damage to trailer chains & emergency brake cable. When connected they should be crossed & hang 3in.

Appliances

During Trip Check exterior vents for obstructions. Monitor operation for changes.

Flooring

During Trip

Sweep & vacuum after each trip. Clean thoroughly once per year. Use a mild soap or cleaning solution. This
includes all throw rugs.

During Trip

Check every time you attach the 7-pin connector. Use tow vehicle running lights to check the trailer running lights.
Use the tow vehicle flashers to check the brake & turn signal lights.

During Trip

Monitor for leaks. Turn on propane slowly. Check tank level for an appropriate quantity. Consider starting each
season full. Refill as necessary based on your use.

During Trip

Avoid storing with water in the system more than 5 days. Run water through all faucets while camping.
Periodically blow out the systems to prevent stagnant water. Annually sanitize.

Weight
Distribution

During Trip Trailer should be nose heavy, 200 to 300lb at the hitch when loaded.

Cabinets

Monthly

Clean & apply polish as needed. Keep wood polished to avoid damage from condensation and cracking when dry.
The kitchen will need care more often than the cabin.

dropping unusually fast indicates approaching end of life.

Brakes

3 Months

noted. Check at every stop by hand; the brakes should be similar temperatures.

Electrical System 3 Months
