Provisioning the Outputs

Provisioning the Outputs

This section describes how to provision the outputs in a TimeHub Master/Remote or 
Expansion shelf. There are several steps to provisioning the DS1, CC, and 5 MHz 
outputs:

Placing in service the output card group that supplies the output 

Selecting the framing for the output, if appropriate

Enabling the specific output port so that a signal will be produced on that port

Setting the output protection as desired

Setting the cable compensation for CC inputs, if applicable

For a given port to generate outputs, you must enable the port AND you must place 
in-service the card group that contains that port (A, B, C, or D for the Master shelf).

You can create labels for each output port on systems equipped with IMC cards 
using the new CPU that runs software version 4.1.3 or higher. See the 

TimeHub 

TL1 Reference Guide

 for more information on port labeling.

Using TimeScan THC

You can provision outputs using the 

Configuration Output

 tab in the TimeScan 

THC application, as shown in 

Figure 4-15

.

Note:

 5 MHz Output card craft software support:

System release 3.2.2: Features are designed into the 5 MHz 
output card to allow TimeScan THC to support provisioning of the 5 
MHz output card as if it was a DS1/CC output card. Only ports 1-4 
are applicable, and the card types are reported as 55581-5MHZ for 
the 5 MHz output card, and CC for the rear panel connector 
module. 

System release 4.1.3: TimeScan THC does not support the 5 MHz 
output card in systems running release 4.1.3 or above. You can 
use TL1 commands to provision the 5 MHz output card, or you can 
transition to SynCraft release 1.3 or higher for full craft support of 
the 5 MHz output card.
