Chapter 4  Testing and Configuring the TimeHub

Provisioning Master Shelf Parameters

Setting the Date and Time

When you first power up the TimeHub, the system starts timekeeping at factory 
default values. Use the procedures below to set the date and time.

Using TimeScan THC

1. Select

Set TimeHub Date and Time

window appears, as shown in

2. Enter the date and time in the format YY-MM-DD,HH-MM-SS, then click 

OK

. 

The TimeHub responds with the COMPLD message.

Using TL1 Commands

You set the date and time in the TimeHub using the ED-DAT TL1 command. To set 
the time and date, issue the command:

ED-DAT:::SC001::04-10-19,09-44-49;

where SC001 is the ctag
04-10-19 is the date (October 19, 2004)
09-44-49 is the time (09:44:49)

The TimeHub responds with the COMPLD message.

Setting the System ID

The System ID <sid> is a name that you assign to identify the TimeHub. All 
responses from the unit are prefixed with this name. You can use up to 20 characters 
to identify the unit.

Note:

 If you include a target identifier <tid> in a command, it is checked 

against the system identifier <sid> of the TimeHub 5500. The command 
is executed only if the <tid> and <sid> match; if they do not match, the 
command is ignored.
