Mailboxes
Your answering machine is provided with 3 mailboxes.
Mailbox 1 is the default mailbox.
When callers dial your number, they
can leave messages in Mailbox 1 as long as the answering machine is
switched on and Answer−Record mode is active.
If callers wish to leave a message in one of the other two mailboxes, they
must press the following buttons on their telephone before recording has
begun or while the outgoing message they are listening to is still being
played:

To use this function, we recommend you record your own outgo-
ing message telling callers what they must do to leave a message
on a specific mailbox.
Recording memos
A memo concerns a message which is recorded directly on the answering
machine and can be played in the same way as an incoming message. A
memo cannot be longer than 1 minute. Speak into the microphone. The
display indicates the length of the memo in seconds.

Initially, only the new messages are played first. You must play the new
messages before you can listen to the old messages. Repeat the play
messages process to then listen to the old messages.
The messages are played in the order in which they were received. The
memory location, weekday and time of receipt of the message are an-
nounced before each respective message is played.
The cleardown process, which occurs after a message has been
recorded, can vary according to the telephone network operator
or PABX system. Therefore, signal tones or other noises, for ex-
ample, could be recorded with the message.
The vocal operator guidance informs you if new messages have been re-
corded in one of the other mailboxes not selected. After the messages in
the mailbox selected have been played, the number of new messages in
each of the three mailboxes is announced in succession. This announce-
ment is also played each time new messages have been played back.
If no messages are recorded in any of the mailboxes, the vocal operator
guidance announces the mailbox is empty after you have pressed the re-
spective mailbox button.
