Chapter 6: Respiration
Respiration Theory of Operation
The V3395 uses a thermistor mounted in the luer –lock fitting to measure respiration. The thermistor
is inserted into the tracheal tube adapter, to place sensor in the middle of the air stream. The sensor is
heated and detects breath by cooler air moving across the sensor. This enables you to get respiration
readings on lower tidal volume patients.
Respiration Menu
The Respiration menu allows the user to view and/or monitoring settings.

Sensitivity
The sensitivity can be controlled. The greater the number the lower the
sensitivity of the sensor.
