Important:  All of the drive carriers must remain in the drive 

bays to maintain proper cooling airfl ow.

Release Button

Hard Drive Backplane

The hard drives plug into a backplane that provides power, drive ID and bus termi-
nation. A RAID controller can be used with the backplane to provide data security. 
The operating system you use must have RAID support to enable the hot-swap 
capability of the hard drives. The backplane is already precon

fi

 gured, so no jumper 

or switch con

fi

 gurations are required.
