Removing the Chassis from the Rack
Warning:
When servicing the server while in the rack, do not pull it more than half-
way out. Full system servicing should be done on workbench, not on the rack. Re-
moving the system from the rack requires at least two people to support the chassis.
Follow safety recommendations printed on the rails.
Removing the Chassis from the Rack
1. Fully extend the chassis from the rack.
2. On each inner rail, press the release latch located near the center of the chassis.
3. Carefully extend the chassis farther. When extended fully, press the rear release latches
on each inner rail.
4. Remove the chassis from the rack.

Note:
Both front chassis rails and the rack rails have a locking tab, which serves two functions.
First, it locks the server into place when installed and pushed fully into the rack (its normal
operating position. In addition, these tabs lock the server in place when fully extended from
the rack. This prevents the server from coming completely out of the rack when pulled out
for servicing.
