8.13 REPLACING THE PLANETARY DRIVING GEAR AND PLANETARY TENSIONER
Check and repeat the instructions in 8.9 - MOUNTING NEW
PLANETARY CHAIN.
Unscrew the bolt and take out the old gear. Put grease in the
safety cap (pos.5,Fig.8.13.1) of the new gear and mount to the
shaft. Fold the safety washer as shown (Fig.8.13.2) and tighten
the bolt - use
“blue” thread locking adhesive.
Tightening force
on the bolts should be 22...25N.m(16...18 ft/lbs). Screw the
safety washer back on as shown (Fig.8.13.2).
8.14 REPLACING THE PLANETARY DRIVEN GEAR
To replace the large gear causing the planetary motion of the head, first dismount the planetary chain and the
tensioner - see Fig.8.9 (MOUNTING NEW PLANETARY CHAIN).
Unscrew the six fastening bolts (Fig.8.14), and remove the two halves of the gear.
Driven Gear is composed by two symmetrical halves(Fig.8.14). Mount in reverse order.
