ECU switch in
“off”
position
Fill water circuit with water
Bleed water circuit, pump and heating unit, over pos.2, pos.5 and pos.13
See to it that by-pass line is closed
and that water circuit runs over heating unit!
remaining air bubbles will automatically escape through pos.7
ECU switch to
“winter”
position
irculation pump is switched on.
Heating element switches on automatically
after approx. 30 min
.
Repeat point 3.
! Attention: when ventilating hot water can escape, too!
Necessary return flow temerature on the ECU control panel. (Recommended 6 - 8 °C)

Security Temperature Control (STB ) Release
The security temperature control limiter (STB)
triggers when a temperature of 250 °C is
reached.
His job is to protect the heating spiral from an overheated situation!
The temperature control limiter (STB) triggers when the maximum temperature is exceeded.
This only happens, when air is in the heating unit (air bubbles - no heat transmission!)
or water circulation is not functioning correctly. Possibles reasons for this may be: e.g.
blockage or contamination (minerals/rust/lime/incrustation deposits) due to a damaged
non-return valve, or interrupted water flow, or opened by-pass line.
Avoid any tributary connection from the main circuit. If absolutely necessary then an short as
possible. Observe DIN 1988 / 1717. Additional heating cable is recommended if installed in
non frost-protected areas or in draughty locations.
Remedy in case of air bubbles in the water circuit:
1) Bleed the pump, pos. 2
2) Bleed the heating unit, pos. 5
3) Bleed the water circuit, pos.13
4) Check, whether the automatic vent valve has been correctly installed.
(dry frost- and draught-protected room, highest point in the circuit)
Re-activation of the security temperature control limiter (STB) switch
- Separate heating unit from mains current
- Put the heating unit depressurized (stop water flow at main water tap)
- Radiator and STB have to be cooled down (otherwise STB does not snap in)
1
- Take away slotted screw at the front side of stainless steel cover
2
- Press in STB flag with an insulated screw driver
- A small metal flag stands upright press this down the STB switch locks into old place (
click sound
)
- The metal flag stands up again( is only the pressure switch)
- Proceed to assembly and first startup again.
as in the case of first startup
}
Put down this flag until STB, security temperature control
limiter switch locks into old place (click sound can be heard).
Flag stands up again.
