Multidoser
The dosing unit for 6 or 3 bottles.
Automatic dosing, supplying constant
amounts of both suspension and lubri-
cant is necessary whenever reproduc-
ibility of preparation results is required.
With Multidoser the dosing level can
be programmed in twenty steps to as-
sure correct dosing for all types of ma-
terials and all specimen sizes. Through
the use of peristaltic pumps, the cor-
rect amount of liquid is applied exactly
where you want it, and vaporisation or
spray mist is avoid ed altogether.

The memory and control unit
If different prepara tion methods are
carried out in a lab, it is important to
be able to repeat the same method
again and again, using the exact same
values every time. With Roto Com,
every single parameter in every step
for exam ple: preparation time, force,
rpm, type of suspension and lubricant,
dosing level and even the preparation
disc used, can be saved and recalled
and run again at any time. There are
10 Metalog Guide methods in cluded
in the software. These can be used
directly for the preparation of many
different materials, or for fast and easy
development of new, user specifi c
prepa ration methods.
RotoCom is the heart of the
RotoSystem
100 preparation methods with 10
steps and all parameters like speed,
force, abrasive, lubricant, dosing level,
the grinding/polishing surface used
and the rotational direction can be
saved.
The 10 methods from the
Metalog Guide
are included in Ro-
toCom, which means that the actual
specimen preparation can be started
imme diately after the RotoSystem has
been set up.
RotoCom contains a library
with all the consumables available
from Struers. This library can easily be
updated whenever new consu-mables
are introduced or if you want to use
consumables of your own.
With its software system
RotoCom takes care of all data trans-
fer to the single Roto Modules. Simply
select a preparation method, press the
Auto button on RotoCom and all the
preparation parameters are sent to the
individual units. Force, time and rota-
tion will be sent to the RotoForce. Type
and amount of suspension and lubri-
cant are sent to Multidoser and speed
and the preparation disc to be used
are sent to RotoPol. After placing the
correct grinding or polishing disc on
RotoPol and inserting the specimens
in RotoForce, just press start and the
complete preparation step will be car-
ried out automatically.
RotoCom, independent unit or
connected to a PC
While RotoCom has been developed
to work totally independently it can
also be connected to a PC for even
greater ease of operation.
With the RotoCom PC Soft ware
TM
included, some of the functions are
made even easier because the PC
keyboard can be used for entries. Also
the number of methods to be saved
is only limited by the amount of disc
space on your PC.

The export/import feature is
one of the major advantages of Ro-
toCom PC Software

Methods can easily be distributed from
one laboratory to another, from Struers
to your own laboratory or from you to
your supplier, customer or any other
affi liated laboratory. This will then guar-
antee that exactly the same method
is carried out in exactly the same way,
producing
exactly the same results every time.
This is one of the reasons why we can
talk about Maximum Repro-ducibility
when working with a RotoSystem.
