With RotoCom it is possible to con-
nect two independent preparation
systems to one RotoCom unit. This
can be different combinations of grind-
ing/polishing machines and specimen
movers with Multi doser and RotoCom.
This offers a whole new range of pos-
sibilities. In the following set up, two
different ways of working are possible
for continuous prepa ration of many
specimens.
1. The preparation of different
materials
Both machines are used as totally
independent systems. Two differ ent
preparation methods are run simulta-
neously. With this confi gu ration it may
be necessary to add another Multidos-
er to the system. This depends on the
number of suspensions and lubricants
re quired on each system. RotoCom
can control either one or two Multi-
doser units.
2. The preparation of many
specimens of the same material
If you have two specimen holders con-
taining the same material, for instance
one holder is processed on the fi rst
step on the fi rst system. Thereafter
the second holder is processed while
the fi rst holder is taken to the second
system for step two. In this case all
preparation steps are carried out al-
ternately on the two systems. In this
confi guration only one Multidoser will
be re quired, dosing on both systems
si multaneously.
