In the Main Menu, select STRUERS METHODS and press ENTER

. The following screen will appear:
Depending on your material, select one of the 10 methods.
Consult your Metalog Guide for details on the selection of methods
for various materials.
The following table will give a rough guideline.
Method Materials to be prepared
Metalog Method A Very soft, non ferrous materials, Al, Cu
Metalog Method B Soft, ductile materials, Cu, Ti
Metalog Method C Soft, less ductile materials, Cu-alloys, soft steels
Metalog Method D Medium hard materials, steel, grey cast iron
Metalog Method E Harder materials, tool steels, white cast iron
Metalog Method F Very hard materials, ductile, sintered carbides
Metalog Method G Very hard materials, brittle, ceramics
Metalog Method X short method for soft materials, Al, Cu
Metalog Method Y short method for harder materials, steel
Metalog Method Z short method for hard materials, ceramics, sintered
carbides

As soft materials can not be ground on a grinding
stone, this method is designed for the plane grinding
of materials normally prepared according to methods
A, B and C.
Please select one step for the plane grinding of your
material, continue with the appropriate method
afterwards.
