When you install a motorised satellite dish, you
must first set the
mechanical limits
of travel,
to physically prevent the dish from moving into
a building or areas where it may cause an
obstruction.
When you have set the mechanical limits, you
must set the
motor position limits
; these
should be just within the mechanical limits of
travel.
To set the
west
motor limit:
1. Use the colour buttons to manually
adjust the motor (see page 35), until the
dish is almost at its mechanical limit of
westward
travel.
2. Press the
Info
button to display the
Limits
screen.
3. To set the
west
limit, press the
green
button.
To set the
east
motor limit:
1. Use the colour buttons to manually
adjust the motor (see page 35), until the
dish is almost at its mechanical limit of
eastward
travel.
2. Press the
Info
button to display the
Limits
screen.
3. To set the
east
limit, press the
yellow
button.
You can, if you wish, disable the motor
position limits. Note, however, that the motor
may be overloaded if you allow it to move the
dish right up to a mechanical limit of travel.
1. Press the
Info
button to display the
Limits
screen.
2. To
disable
limits, press the
red
button.
To redisplay the
Setting antenna
screen,
without setting or disabling limits, press the
Exit
button.
Use the
buttons to choose how you want
to adjust the motor position. This is displayed
in the box below the current satellite’s name.
Moving to position 0
Press either
button to start the motor and
move the dish to position ‘0’ (facing south).
Moving to preset position
Press either
button to start the motor and
move the dish to the preset position for the
currently selected satellite, normally as shown
on the
Reception
screen. Note that you can
override this position on the
Position
screen
(see page 35).
Positioning
Press either
button to start the motor and
move the dish to the position for the currently
selected satellite, as shown on the
Position
screen (see page 35). Note that this position
can be different from the satellite’s preset
position shown on the
Reception
screen.
Scanning with auto stop
Use this method to adjust the motor position
until the signal power (%) from the satellite
transponder is at a satisfactory level, at which
point the motor will automatically stop.
Press the button to start the motor and
move the dish towards the west, or the
button to start the motor and move the dish
towards the east.
Scanning with manual stop
Press the button to start the motor and
move the dish towards the west, or the
button to start the motor and move the dish
towards the east.
When you decide that the signal power (%)
from the satellite transponder is at a
satisfactory level, press
OK
to stop the motor.
