2 For your safety
2.1
Safety concept of the documentation
In accordance with the risk assessment RB 770.0001 carried out, the safety concept in this documentation is
structured in the following way:
• The general safety guidelines for the operator and the user are listed in this section.
• Section-related safety guidelines are listed at the start of the respective section.
• Safety guidelines related to handling must be followed before each safety-related work step.
2.2

Qualified personnel
• Only employ qualified or trained personnel.
• Do not authorise people whose ability to react is impaired, for example by the influence of drugs, alcohol,
medication or similar. Observe the specific national age guidelines.
• Observe all other nationally-applicable guidelines of the respective country of use.
2.3
Intended use
The brake serves to retain/brake the torque or rotary motion energy of a drive train.
The activation/switching on of the brake must as a rule only be used for static braking or for a retaining brake
function, it should therefore occur when stationary.
A dynamic emergency stop braking is only provided for exceptional cases and after the corresponding construc-
tion calculation.
It is a product that is not ready for use, which must be connected to other incomplete machines and/or compo-
nents in order to fulfil its function.
Depending on the specific design, its use is permitted in dry as well as in wet operation.
2.3.1
Power supply
The brake may only be operated with clean hydraulic fluid of the quality specified in section 4.2 and at the ex-
cessive operating pressure indicated in the dimensional drawing.
The pressurised medium supply occurs through the pressure line connection in the piston chamber, see sec-
tion 5.3.1. The thread diameter can be obtained from the dimensional drawing. The pressure line to the brake
must be short and must not have sharp bends or cross section constrictions.
