Recovering From Loss of Extrusion
1. From the display panel, press
Maintenance...
2. Press
Machine...
3. Press
Head...
4. With the Phillips-head screwdriver provided in the Startup Kit, release the two screws securing
the head assembly (see Figure 31. - the screws require only ¼ turn to release). Swing open the
front half of the head.

5. Attempt to re-establish extrusion.
a. From the display, press
Forward...
b. Gently push the filament that stopped extruding into the filament guide rollers. Do so for
about three seconds.
Note: It is recommended that you read and understand this entire procedure
before performing any of the work.
Gloves: The head area is very hot!! Use leather gloves when working in this
area of printer!
Note: You may feel resistance when you swing open the front half of the head.
One, or both, of the material filament lines are likely to still be routed into the
head and held by the drive motor. This is normal. Swing the door open slowly,
but firmly.
Note: Both material filaments must be coming out of the feed tubes at the back
of the head (see Figure 32. ) and still be going into the drive block funnels in
the front half of the head in order to proceed with this step. If not, skip to step
6
