FUSELAGE

7.1.2.1
CRACKS AND STRUCTURAL DAMAGE
• Check forward fuselage and the tail boom for cracks and abnormal surface (local buckling,
roughness, holes and delamination), especially at the connection points to the center steel
frame, along the adhesive bindings of the tail boom and at the vertical tail root.
• Check the lower sides of forward fuselage and tail boom for gravel strike damage. Deep
damage to the coating, which may allow water to penetrate into the composite structure,
should be repaired.

DRAINAGE HOLES
• Check holes for cleanness, clean if necessary.

7.1.2.3
NOSE-CONE
• Check proper fit of nose-cone on front fuselage.
• Check condition of composite structure, especially edge and bonding to nose-cone tube.
• Check operating lever for proper locking in both, forward and rear locked position. The force
to unlock must be sufficient to secure locking even under vibrations, ground and flight loads.
• Check condition and backlash of nose-cone sliding tube.
Allowable Backlash of Nose-cone: At the top, perpendicular to flight direction, 3 mm / 0.12 in.
NOSE-CONE HANDLE ADJUSTMENT
• Remove left and right coverings of instrument panel.
• Loosen forward connection of handle and nose-cone sliding tube.
• Loosen counter nut and adjust the eyebolt.
• Tighten nut to secure the eyebolt.
