7.4.6.1 FUEL SYSTEM IN THE WING
• Check condition of the steel supply lines at wing spar between the pump assemblies behind
the wing roots. Look for damage or chafing from rigging.
• Check the screw connections for tight fit without leakage.
• Check condition and function of quick release coupling.
• Check condition of vent line outlet assy. at each end rib of wing center section.
• Check condition of electrical connections of fuel pumps and quantity transmitters.
• Check connection of the fuel pumps in the wing through the opening in the lower wing
surface.
• To clean (or exchange) the filters the wing supply lines, loose clamps at flexible and then
loose the whole pump/drainer/filter package from it’s attachment (two M5 screws at the
lower edge of spar) and remove the package though the lower shell opening. Re-assemble
after the planned maintenance the package in reversed way.
CLEAN FINE FILTER OR RENEW IF REQUIRED
To clean (or exchange) the filters in the wing supply lines, loose clamps at flexible hose and then
loosen the whole pump/drain/filter package from its attachment (two M5 screws at the lower
edge of spar) and remove the package though the lower wing surface opening.
• Loosen clamps of fuel lines and remove filters in LH and RH wing.
• Install new filter using clamps of original. type (Spare parts available from STEMME.)
Re-assemble the package after the planned maintenance the package in reverse order.
REPLACEMENT OF FINE FILTERS (AT THE LATEST AFTER 200 ENGINE HOURS).
• Check fuel filler cap for leakage and proper locking. To check for leakage of wing tanks
look for signs of fuel leaking from drain holes of the wing center section or around the fuel
system maintenance opening.
