VERVIEW
The MACH16 Slim Lite (2.5-Inch, MO-297A) 3Gbps SATA (Serial ATA) Solid-State Drive (SSD) is a non-
volatile mass storage device. The SSD is intended as a replacement for a SATA-compliant hard disk drive
(HDD). The drive can be configured as a boot or data storage device. The drive is Plug-and-Play (PnP)
compatible; no additional device drivers are required to install the drive. The SSD is recognized by PnP-
compatible operating systems and PnP-aware BIOS.
I
NTERFACE
The SSD can be installed in any system that supports SATA 1.0 or greater devices; the drive is compliant
with SATA 2 standards and supports all ATA and ATAPI devices. The SSD has a fully compliant
ATA/ATAPI-8 Serial ATA interface, a 22-pin (7-signal, 15-power) connector, and conforms to the same
mechanical and mounting requirements as a standard rotating disk drive. Power consumption is kept to a
minimum; the SSD can be powered from a 5-volt source or an alternative 3.3-volt source

C
APACITIES
The SSD is available in unformatted memory capacities of 25, 50 and 100 gigabytes. The memory is
comprised of Single-Level Cell (SLC) or Multi-Level Cell (MLC) NAND EEPROM flash components. As
used for storage capacity, one megabyte (MB) = one million bytes, one gigabyte (GB) = one billion bytes,
and one terabyte (TB) = one trillion bytes. The available capacity will vary depending on operating
environment and formatting.
R
ELIABILITY
The design eliminates electromechanical noise and delay inherent in traditional magnetic rotating media.
The wear-leveling and bad-block mapping algorithms ensure data integrity. The embedded Error
Detection Code and Cyclic Redundancy Checking (EDC/CRC) ensure data reliability.

S
ECURITY
The SSD offers erase and sanitization (purge) features. Erase times vary according to the capacity of the
drive. The drive can also be
“sanitized”, thereby making data recovery impossible.
