6.2 Idle-Mode 
Some modes send a special DMX512A recommended frame on 
DMX512 fail, the Idle-Mode. This mode serves to avoid a fault 
status at the connected lighting devices by a faulty or missing 
DMX512 line. The frame of the Idle mode only includes  the 
BREAK, MAB and START byte. 
 
6.3 Valid frames 
As "valid" a frame is described and reprocessed if a DMX start 
timing was recognized after a DMX channel amount of max. 512 
bytes. 
 
6.4 Termination  
At the end of a DMX512 data cable a 120  

Ω

 resistor has to be 

connected. The SP1X12 does this for input A by a manual switch 
indicated by a yellow LED. 
Optimal wise one a data line basing on the RS485 interface 
standard also should have a termination at the beginning. For this 
reason the SP1X12 has a 120 

Ω

 resistance for every output.
