5. RETIMER
The DMX512 data are processed by the SP1X12 interface with an
optimal and standard compliant DMX512 timing (as recommended
in USITT DMX512A, American National Standard E1.11–2004 /
8.11 table 6 & 7 and DIN 56930-2 / 4.4.1.).
This means a DMX512 receiver must be able to accept:
44 frames per second, no additional bit between the bytes [slots],
no additional time between the frames [packets].
Unfortunately, there are DMX512 devices on the market marked
with DMX512 but are not able to receive and to process a DMX512
signal with an optimal and standard-compliant timing. This results in
flickering and black outs.
In this case the SP1X12 includes a RETIMER with a standard fix
timing added to the modes 5 to 8.
