CE marking
This radio set meets the requirements of the R&TTE Directive and
is thus provided with the CE mark. The stabo xm 3003 satisfies
the standards EN 300433 and EN 300135 as well as EN 301489-1/13
on electromagnetic compatibility (EMC). Furthermore, the regu-
lations on the electric safety according to EN 60065 are observed
as well.
Safety warnings
Pacemaker
Each radio set emits electromagnetic waves during transmission
which could lead to malfunctions of different devices. However,
the occurrence of such malfunctions depends on many factors,
as the transmitting power, the frequency, the type of modulation
and, not least, on the interference immunity of the other devices
just to mention some of these factors.
During the last few years, the endangering of persons having a
pacemaker due to radio waves has become one focal point of
public interest. An appropriately operated CB radio set normally
does not harm contemporary pacemakers. However, if you have
a pacemaker, we recommend you to consult your doctor for the
distance which is to be kept to the transmitting antenna for definitely
avoiding any endangerment. In any case you should avoid to touch
the antenna in transmit mode.
Radio operation while driving
Meanwhile mobile phones may only be used in running motor
vehicles using a handsfree equipment, an express exception to
this rule is provided for radio sets and consequently also for CB
radio sets in the Motor Vehicle Traffic Regulations. However, for
your own safety, you should only use your radio set if the traffic
situation permits.
