__6) Install Handrails And Inside step Legs: You will need both
the Left (8) and Right (9) Handrails, two Inside Step Legs, four
3/8”x 2 ½” Button Head Bolts, eight 3/8” Flat Washers, four 3/8”
Locknuts, two Four Hole Attachment Brackets (15), two Gaskets
for Attachment Brackets (16), eight Self tapping Screws (17), and
two 3/8”x 3/8” Set screws. Place one 3/8” Flat Washer on to each
of the 2 ½”Button Head Bolts. Insert this through the bottom hole
on the Handrail, then through the bottom hole in the side of the
stair. Now place the step leg into the footing hole and onto the
3/8”x 2 1/2” Button Head Bolt, the flat side of the inside step leg
should touch the inside of the Transfer Station Stairs. Secure this
with a second 3/8” Flat Washer and 3/8” Locknut. (See detail B)
Install a second 3/8”x 2” Button Head Bolt and 3/8” Flat washer
into the top hole of the Handrail. Place one of the Four Hole
Attachment Brackets on the bent end of the Handrail and mark the
holes on the post that it connects to. Drill the holes and install the
Four Hole Attachment Bracket to the post. With the hole in the
Four Hole Attachment Bracket facing the ground, attach it to the
post using four Self tapping Screws, the Attachment Bracket
Gasket will install between the Bracket and the post. Now you
need to install the 3/8” x 3/8” set screw into the threaded insert in
the Four Hole Attachment bracket to secure the Handrail to the
post. (See detail C) Repeat this for the other handrail.
