Maintenance and adjustment of the slip clutch
Prior to commissioning and after long downtimes check the condition of the friction clutches.
Release the spring tension and rotate the clutch while the PTO drive is being held. Once
freed off, re- adjust the spring tension to the original setting.
After the work season release the spring tension and keep the clutches covered in a dry
place. Check the condition of the friction plates and adjust the spring tension to the original
height before use.
If the clutch has been overheated due to frequent and sudden slipages, disassemble the
clutch and check. The original thickness of the clutch lining is 3.2 mm and the coating has to
be replaced when it has reached a thickness of 2.5 mm. Clean all contact surfaces and
replace any defective components before the clutch is re-assembled and used.
