5-2. Outline of MA-142 Board
The MA-142 board is mainly classified into two circuit blocks.
1. Video signal processing block
In the video signal processing block, the following are
performed, that is, the decoding, adjustment, and capturing
of a video signal, the transfer of image data to a print
processing block, the rendering for monitor output, OSD
processing, and video encoding.
The video signal processing block mainly consists of the
following circuits.
.
Sync selector
.
DDR SDRAM
.
Video decoder
.
Video encoder
.
SOC (CPU)
.
Video driver
.
Flash memory
2. System control, mechanism, and print control
block
This block performs the image processing such as the
rendering, gamma, masking, and sharpness of the image data
transferred from a system control block and video signal
processing block, USB recording, and mechanical control.
This block mainly consists of the following circuits.
.
SOC (CPU)
.
SDRAM
.
Flash memory
.
ASIC
.
PLD
5-2-1. Video Signal Processing Block
1. Input signal processing block
(1) Sync selector (IC1001)
IC1001 switches the sync signal of the input
component signal, color-converts the signal, and
outputs it to IC1002.
For an RGB signal, a sync signal exists in a green
channel (SYNC ON GREEN) or sync signal-dedicated
channel. Whether the green channel or sync signal-
dedicated channel is selected depends on the setting of
a menu. The sync signal-dedicated channel
corresponds to an input of 0.3 to 4.0 V p-p.
An RGB signal is converted into a YCbCr signal in
IC1001 and output when it is input.
The operation described above is controlled from
IC1101 via a I
2
C bus.
