Two types of printing packs are provided, one for the Dye Sublimation Printing
System, and one for the Variable Dot Printing System. Upon changing the ribbon
and paper, the printer automatically selects the appropriate printing system. Ribbon
and corresponding paper are provided together in packs. When printing, use ribbon
and paper only in the combinations in which they are packaged. The relationship
between the printing systems, paper sizes, and printing packs is as follows:

Changing Printing Systems
When changing from dye sublimation printing to variable dot printing (or vice
versa), you must change to the appropriate ribbon and paper for that system.
See the instructions provided with the printing packs for how to change ribbon and
paper.
Note
If the type of ribbon and the type of paper do not match, printing is not possible.
Even if printing packs are made for use with the same printing system, mixing
ribbon and paper from different types of printing packs will make it impossible to
obtain correct color matching.
Notes about the ribbon
• Ink ribbon should not be re-used.
• Do not store ink ribbon in high temperature or humidity.
• When storing an ink ribbon for a long time between uses, store it in the moisture-
proof bag in which it came.
• Do not store ink ribbon in a dusty place. If it picks up dust, the printed images
may be soiled, and the print head may be damaged.
Notes about paper
• Use only paper that is specifically intended for the printer. Other types of paper
may cause problems such as paper jams.
• The paper loaded into the printer should remain in the package.
• Do not add paper to the paper package.
• Match the type of paper to the printing system being used.
• Do not store paper in high temperature or humidity.
• When storing paper for a long time between uses, store it in the moisture-proof
bag in which it came.
• Do not store paper in a dusty place. If it picks up dust, the printed images may be
soiled, and the thermal head may be damaged.
