DDNS Setup
Chapter 8: Troubleshooting
Figure 8-11. Port forwarding
4. Having taken the above steps, you should be able to log on to the camera from a remote location by
entering the DDNS address or the static IP address in the location field of a web browser depending
on your configuration. For example, in this case, you should enter http://61.220.20.16:80 into the
location field of Internet Explorer to access the camera.
Notice!
If you have multiple cameras installed on a network, you will need
to change the HTTP and RTSP port on the cameras manually so each
one of them uses a different port. E.g. changing the HTTP and RTSP
port for the 2nd camera to 81 and 554 respectively and accessing
the 2nd camera by logging on to http://61.220.20.16:81.
DDNS Setup
DDNS allows you to link camera’s IP address to a hostname with which you can access your camera on the
Internet. If your camera system obtains IP address via DHCP mode, you need to enable DDNS feature under
network setting and apply for a DDNS (Dynamic DNS), so the hostname can be obtained from Compro’s free
iDDNS service or by login on to the website of some service providers such as DynDNS or no-ip. After you
have applied for a DDNS, please log in to the IP Camera’s setup page, and look for [Network] > [DDNS] and
provide all the required information..
Using Compro iDDNS Service
If you want to use Compro iDDNS service, please run the Compro iWizard and choose “Yes” in the Step 5 to set
up iDDNS and then input the preferred address and click “Check Availability” to check whether the inputted
address is being used. When successful, you can click “Create Shortcut” button to create a shortcut on your
desktop for convenient access.
