Data Management

Dumping and Loading EDL Data

Overview

The BVE-700 allows you to dump EDL data to external devices,
and to load EDL data from external devices.

Dumping EDL data to external devices

You can dump EDL data created on the BVE-700 to external
devices over the RS-232C interface. The external device can use
the EDL data to create a similar EDL. Some editing systems are
able to use the EDL data just as it is.

Loading EDL data from external devices

You can load EDL data created on external devices into the BVE-
700’s EDL memory over the RS-232C interface. This data can be
used and modified in exactly the same way as EDL data created on
the BVE-700.

EDL format

The BVE-700 uses the BVE-9100 EDL format.

RS-232C interface configuration

The RS-232C interface must be configured to match the device
connected to the EDL connector of the processor unit.

For details, see page 6-14.

To dump EDL data to external devices

Proceed as follows.

1

Boot up the device connected to the EDL connector and
prepare it to receive data.
