Editing Operations
3
Press the 1ST EDIT (SHIFT + ASSMBL) button.
4
Press the REC/REC OFF button.
The ASMBL button starts to flash, and first edit processing is
carried out in the following order.
1) A signal generated by the internal background signal
generator is recorded for 10 seconds plus the preroll time
before the recorder IN point. The recorded signal is a color
bar, color background, or black signal, as specified in the
setup menu (INIT DATA > 1EDSRC). The signal is also
recorded for 2 seconds past the recorder IN point.
Timecode is recorded along with CTL signals.
2) The recorder returns to the preroll point and stops. The
ASMBL button stops flashing and lights.
3) The recorder and player begin to run from the preroll point,
and an assemble edit is executed.
For the rest of the procedure you can proceed in the same way as
when performing a normal assemble edit.
To use an internal VTR signal as the first edit video
signal
Execute the first edit after selecting VTR-SG in the setup menu
(INITDATA > 1EDVSRC and INITDATA > 1EDASRC).
Notes
• The optional BKE-701 HD Switcher Board must be installed to
perform a first edit. However, if your VTR has an internal signal
generator, it may be possible to perform a first edit without
installing the board.
• In CTL display mode (the CTL indicators light in the time
counter display sections), there is a delay before automatic
setting of first edit time data. The time data is set when first edit
recording reaches the point immediately before the recorder IN
point.
