14.1.2 Boiler cleaning - manual activities
Two ways to start with the boiler cleaning:
The burner is active
►
Switch the boiler off (press the
STOP
button
and leave to cool.
The boiler is in
standby
status
►
Press the
STOP
button
, and if necessary let
the boiler cool down.
►
Press the
boiler cleaning
button
►
Perform these activities:
–
Check the stainless steel combustion grate for
wear
–
Check the stainless steel combustion grate sup-
port
–
Remove ash from the combustion chamber
14.1.2.1 Check the stainless steel combustion
grate for wear
In the event of advanced wear of the stainless steel
combustion grate, the spaces in the grate enlarge. A
seriously worn stainless steel combustion grate will
allow incompletely burned pellets to fall through.
Check this regularly if you remove the ash from the
combustion chamber; if necessary, replace the stain-
less steel combustion grate
14.1.2.2 Check the stainless steel combustion
grate support

The stainless steel combustion grate must
lie completely flat and horizontally.
When
inclined, ignition problems are possible, or this
can lead to uneven wear of the stainless steel
combustion grate.
If necessary, clean the stainless steel com-
bustion grate support surface over the entire cir-
cumference and remove any deposits.

14.1.2.3 Remove ash from the combustion cham-
ber

Open the cladding door and combustion chamber
door.
►
Place the ash pans

in front of the combustion
chamber.
►
Pull the ash present in the combustion chamber
into the ash pan using the ash scraper.

14.1.3 Replace combustion grate
►
Switch the boiler to
STOP
and leave to cool.
►
Open the cladding door, lift the cover plate up and
remove it.
►
Remove
1
the cover by releasing the 4 hex nuts
M8 (WAF 13).
►
Remove the stainless steel combustion grate
2
upwards, insert a new grate and reinstall the com-
ponents in the reverse order. Note: Before inser-
ting the stainless steel combustion grate, clean
the support surface.
