6. Installation and Assembly
This equipment may only be installed by a qualified technician who is familiar with the installation, monitoring and maintenance
of this type of equipment, and uses suitable tools.
Mechanical
•
To ensure safe operation, the equipment must be firmly fixed.
•
The equipment has a folding motorised hatch to guarantee water-tightness and prevent the entry of water.
•
The equipment must be installed in such a way that the whole of its surface area is adhered to the surface on which
it is installed.
•
The equipment should be installed so that it does not cause vibration in the ducts or building and to facilitate its
maintenance and cleaning.
•
The product is supplied with the necessary screws and caps to fix the flap in concrete or brick wall. 4 water plastic
dischargers, the water discharge profile and the screws to fix it to the exterior frame are also provided
•
For the correct installation of the
external hatch
of the equipment carry out the following steps:
1. Place the flap within the hole in the wall previously prepared. It’s recommended to leave a minimum distance
b of 30mm
(Fig. 1).
2. Using mounting wedges placed in both sides of the frame, level the flap properly. It’s recommended to place
two mounting wedges in each vertex of the frame, one in vertical direction and another in horizontal direction
(Fig. 2).
3. Fill in the gap between the frame and the wall with polyurethane foam.
4. Open the hatch with the electrical actuator just the amount required to access the chain pin (
Fig. 3).
5. Extract the pin which holds the flap to the chain and open the flap completely
6. Drill Ø6x80 holes in the frame profiles and wall. Disposition of the holes detailed on the
Fig. 5.1 and 5.2.
7. Screw the Ø6 holes directly to the wall the supplied screws with the product
8. Place at the top of the screws the supplied caps with the product.
9. Insert the pin which holds the flap to the chain and close the flap using the electrical actuator.
10. Remove the mounting wedges.
11. Using neutral silicone, seal the exterior perimeter between the frame and the wall’s gap.
12. Screw in the upper side of the exterior frame, the water discharge profile supplied with the product
(Fig. 6).
It’s recommended to apply neutral silicone in the water discharge profile in the side which has contact to the
frame.
13. Place the 4 water plastic dischargers on the notches of the flap
(Fig. 4).
ATTENTION:
Place down the
openings of the plastic water dischargers to avoid to the water enter trough this notches to the inside of the
flap.
•
After completing the mechanical mounting, check that the rotor or turbine turns freely, without grazes or tension, and
that the actuator and chain are properly fastened to the hatch.
Electrical
•
Select a power cable with a suitable cross-section for the current used by the equipment.
(Fig. 13)
•
Check if the electrical characteristics stated on the plate correspond to the power supply.
•
An external protective component must be connected to protect the actuator/control panel (relay, magneto-thermal
protection system or fuse), in accordance with current regulations and nominal consumtion.
(Fig. 13)
•
The electrical connections must be done inside of a connection box fixed in the inside face of the wall and out of the
air stream.
•
The equipment's earth connection must be connected.
•
The potential free contacts of the limit switches allows maximum 10 A 240 Vac or 10 A 250 Vdc.
•
Closed limit switch: while the flap is closed, the free contact remains closed by default
(Fig. 8).
•
Open limit switch: while the flap is opened, the free contact remains closed by default
(Fig. 8).
•
For the models 40, 45, 56, 63, 71, 80, 90 and 100, the flap is motorized with one single actuator and it must be
connected according to the scheme described in the
Fig. 7.1.
•
For the 125 model, the flap is motorized with two actuators synchronized through a control panel supplied with the
product. The two actuators must be connected to the control panel and the control panel to the power and maneuver
according to
Fig. 7.2
Start-up
•
After starting up the equipment, it is important to check that the flap movement is correct, without vibrations, or unusual
noises.
•
A check must be made to ensure that the actuator's actual power consumption does not exceed the level stated on
the equipment's label or in
Figure 13
and that it does not heat up excessively.
•
The machine must not be switched on and off intermittently, as this could damage the winding of the motor or the
insulation, due to overheating.
