Configuring SSID, Wireless Mode, and Channel

Using the
Basic Setting
tab, you can configure the Adapter’s SSID, wireless mode, and
channel.
Parameter / Button
Description
SSID
Name of the wireless network scanned by the Adapter.
Wireless Mode
Select a wireless frequency (for example, 2.4G).
Channel
Select a radio channel used by the Adapter to transmit data. Changing the channel is only effective
in ad hoc – peer-to-peer networks. Networks that operate in Infrastructure mode automatically scan
for a channel. Table 3-2 shows the operational channel frequency for several countries.
Apply button
Click this button to apply your settings.
The
Basic Setting
tab also provides a
Restore Default
button for returning the Adapter to
its factory default settings.
Note:
A precautionary message does not appear before you return the Adapter to default
settings.
