Using the SMC WLAN configuration tool, you can switch your Adapter from one operating 
mode to another. 

To switch the Adapter from Station mode to AP mode: 

1.  Insert the Adapter into the USB port on your computer. 

2.  Click 

AP mode 

at the top of the main screen (see Figure 3-1). 

3.  If the ICS Select WAN Adapter dialog box appears, use the top drop-down list to select a 

WAN adapter. The bottom drop-down list is a read-only field that shows the name of your 
Adapter. 

4.  Click 

OK

 

 

 

Note:

 If the Adapter is not 

inserted into the computer’s USB slot, an error messages indicates 

it is impossible to switch to AP mode. If you receive this message, click 

OK

 to close the 

message. Then 

insert the Adapter into the computer’s USB port and click 

AP mode

 again.
